DATABASE (Coming Soon)
Are you a visuals editor or art director? Email us for recommendations for community members available for commissions and assignment work.
We’re currently rebuilding our internal database for photographers. In the meantime, you may find the following resources useful:
If you’d like to get updates from us, you can sign up for our industry newsletter here. We’ll make sure to share when our database for editors is ready to access. Until then, we are happy to connect you with members directly if you are hiring for a specific project, or share any calls for bids or pitches with our network.
Authority Collective offers workshops for news organizations, visual media companies, camera corporations and other organizations working within visual narratives, stories or rhetoric. Our members include specialists in cultural competency, diversity/equity/inclusion training and implicit bias education, as well as award-winning writers and speakers on the need for diversity in visual media and how to decolonize photography.
Our members are available as panelists, speakers and guest lecturers for visual media workshops, photo and film festivals, educational and industry events within the visual media, diversity and community leadership fields. We have academics with specializations in critical media studies in photography, TV and film, as well as instructors in photojournalism, multimedia production, commercial photography and documentary/VR filmmaking.
The Authority Collective’s initiatives have been made possible through the generosity of PhotoShelter, United Photo Industries, Mastin Labs, and Wonderful Machine and Visura. We also thank Format, Annenberg Foundation, Boreal Collective, Women Photograph, and individual donors from our community for their additional support.
We are currently fundraising to support virtual programming for our members through Allied Media Conference. The money raised will go toward speaker fees and organizing costs, and any surplus funds will go back to the Authority Collective and its operating costs.
